This is a true story that had happened in 1892 at Stanford University . Its moral is still relevant today.

A young, 18-year-old student was struggling to pay his fees. He was an orphan, and not know­ing where to turn for money, he came up with a bright idea. A friend and he decided to host a musical concert on campus to raise money for their education.

They reached out to the great pianist Ignacy J. Paderewski. His manager demanded a guaranteed fee of $2000 for the piano recital. A deal was struck. And the boys began to work to make the concert a success.

The big day arrived. Paderewski performed at Stanford. But unfortunately, they had not managed to sell enough tickets. The total col­lection was only $1600. Disappointed, they went to Paderewski and explained their plight.They gave him the entire $1600, plus a cheque for the balance $400. They promised to honour the cheque soonest possible.

“No.” said Paderewski. “This is not acceptable.” He tore up the cheque,returned the $1600 and told the two boys “Here’s the $1600. Please deduct whatever expenses you have incurred. Keep the money you need for your fees. And just give me whatever is left” The boys were surprised, and thanked him profusely.

It was a small act of kindness. But it clearly marked out Paderewski as a great human being. Why should he help two people he did not even know? We all come across situations like these in our lives. And most of us only think “If I help them, what would hap­pen to me?” The truly great people think, “If I don’t help them, what will happen to them?” They don’t do it expecting something in return. They do it because they feel it’s the right thing to do.

Paderewski later went on to become the Prime Minister of Poland. He was a great leader, but unfortunately when the World War began, Poland was ravaged. There were over 1.5 mil­lion people starving in his country, and no money to feed them. Paderewski did not know where to turn for help. He reached out to the US Food and Relief Administration for help.

The head there was a man called Herbert Hoover - who later went on to become the US President. Hoover agreed to help and quickly shipped tons of food grains to feed the starving Polish people. A calamity was averted.

Paderewski was relieved. He decided to go across to meet Hoover and person­ally thank him. When Paderewski began to thank Hoover for his noble gesture, Hoover quickly interjected and said, “You shouldn’t be thanking me Mr. Prime Minister. You may not remember this, but several years ago, you helped two young students go through college in the US . I was one of them.”

The world is a wonderful place. What goes around usually comes around.

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we’re kids? If you’re less than 10 years old, you’re so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

‘How old are you?’ ‘ I’m four and a half!’ You’re never thirty-six and a half. You’re four and a half, going on five! That’s the key

You get into your teens, now they can’t hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

‘How old are you?’ ‘I’m gonna be 16!’ You could be 13, but hey, you’re gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There’s no fun now, you’re Just a sour-dumpling. What’s wrong? What’s changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you’re PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it’s all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn’t think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You’ve built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it’s a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80′s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30 ; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn’t end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; ‘I Was JUST 92.’

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. ‘I’m 100 and a half!’
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

Think and Grow rich by Napoleon Hill was one of the first self improvement books i read. It has since inspired me to excel in whatever i did and the result is a huge leap for me in the confidence department. I always had that innate ability to accomplish things with ease and i feel that i can only thank ” Napoleon Hill” for bringing such a huge difference in me…

My favorite chapter is Desire: The starting point of all achievement. Because this is often the hardest portion to initiate and jump-start your journey. I am not sure about YOU, but i always had that feeling of envy and guilt on why my life couldn’t be more of an ease . An ease in achieving financial freedom and happiness. Why does life have to be so cruel at times… don’t you agree?

Since time immemorial, people had dreams and desires to live with comfort…it all started with needs (food, shelter and clothing) then as we evolved, we wanted MORE… humans by nature are never satisfied that is why in the declaration of independence….its only stated the word ” Pursuit” of happiness and not achieving happiness. Well as you can remember … this is the awareness possessed by the Will Smith in the movie ” The Pursuit of Happiness”.

There is one word that threatens to kill every dream a person could ever have of being successful. I’d say being successful in life has a lot to do with desire, passion and determination, but this one word could kill success anywhere anytime.

Yes, it’s that serious.

The word is FEAR.

It’s a dream killer, no question.

What you need to understand, though, is why?

We’re all human, so we all feel human emotions. Fear is one of those. And when we try to do something we’ve never done before, like a start an online business, fear is a natural part of taking that step.

But it also can become a nasty beast that strangles every dream you have.

So.. you have to learn how to overcome that Fear by stepping out there boldly. Start simple, and focus your efforts on taking one step at a time on building your passion.

Why People Fail To Succeed

We all know that life isn’t easy. People go through failures day-in-day out. Sometimes, these failures become so painful that people get crippled by it and they lose focus.

Not only do they lose sight of their goals, they lose confidence as well and as the poor ‘victim’ loses confidence, he or she loses the ability to perform and they go through failure again and again until it becomes a vicious cycle that they just can’t get out of!

We must get a proper perspective of our failures.

Take a moment to think about our lives. Without realizing it, we are actually failing on a daily basis without realizing it! We fail to grab a good parking space. We fail to be there for our children when they need us. We just keep on failing when it comes to every little thing in our lives… and yet we are so used to it!

As a matter of fact, we even fail at everything from the very first day that we are BORN!

To put it bluntly, the reason why the majority of the people in the world lack confidence and are emotionally crippled is because they have such a wrong perspective of their failures that it almost seems atrocious!

What you need to do is change your mindset, remember what Dr. Randy said, and don’t lose focus!

Follow simple steps, there are 101 ways to succeed, you can’t be doing it all, focus on a single piece of advice and follow through……

1.Have FUN
2.Participate
3.Take ACTION

95% of people who fail to achieve their dreams is failure to do STEP 3……! They procrastinate ,envy, complain, give excuse, and the list goes on.
