MLM Scams Running Rampant On The Internet?

Article by Erin Smith

To a lot of people, MLM scams seem to be everywhere.

In fact, there is such a stigma about MLM’s that if you’re in one, odds are you’re a tad embarrassed when people ask you what you do for a living.

“I, um, sell stuff on the internet,” seems to be a standard response to this seemingly harmless question.

But why? Is there a purpose for people to believe in MLM scams?

It seems that most people believe in these MLM scams because the failure rate is high, and you’re just recruiting people that will spend money, yet have no hope of succeeding down the road.

However, let’s say that you reach a decision you want to start a restaurant. First of all, you’re certainly going to do some research. Hopefully you already have some experience, or have someone helping you who’s dared do it before.

You plan out every last detail of your menu, locale, prices, motif, decorations, promotions, marketing, and you even receive a huge loan from the bank to get you up and running.

However, even with all of this planned out, the outside expertise you’re getting, and the finances to help, there’s a 7 in 10 chance you’ll have to close your doors in the next couple years. And that’s after spending every cent and every second you have committed to your project.

I find that amusing, because if I travelled around the United States and gave seminars on how to open and run restaurants, there wouldn’t be any negative feedback when I told people what I did. In fact, most of the world would probably semi-respect me for doing this.

however aren’t I just actually setting people up to fail? The broad majority of the people who even try to start a restaurant will lose everything.

Now, let’s say you want to join one of the many MLM “scams” out there. You have to devote a few hundred bucks to get involved. I personally now use 0 per month for my MLM, my marketing system, and a few other tools.

And, it doesn’t take every second of my life. In fact, many people who make cash in network marketing do so part-time. So, you don’t have to give all your time, or even leave your job to take a dive into something unknown. Plus, you have the chance to create a company without mortgaging your home.

And if you believe in MLM scams in the literal sense (like being against the law), then you’ve missed that boat by around 35 years. I think there would be a bigger fuss if 10 million people in the United States were working in MLM scams.

MLM Scams: How to Avoid Them

I would say that the only thing resembling one of the MLM “scams” might be someone who recruits others and ignores them. somebody without a mentor, or any instruction offered to them, is almost forever going to fail.

now how do you avoid this in your MLM career?

Two things I suggest:

1. research the upline and team you plan on getting involved with. Make sure there are other people willing to help you and that they do frequent trainings. The better support there is within the team, the more likely you may have success.

2. Just like in starting a restaurant, you must comprehend how you plan on marketing and building your business. through the internet, you have an unlimited potential to generate leads and prospects, if you have the right instruction.
