Network 21: A Critical Review: Should you join?

Many people have been invited to a “Network 21 Business Preview”, only to find out at the end of the presentation that what they actually attending is an Amway presentation in disguise. Network 21 is in fact an education, training, and support system for Independent Business Owners (IBOs) working with the Amway business. Network 21 provides cds, host functions and provides a system of how to work the Amway business. So they are actually two totally separate companies.So why does a massive company like Amway need to partner up with a motivational/training company like Network 21? Well, the word ‘Amway’ makes many people cringe because of a previous bad experience with the company or because of their negative reputation. That is why many Amway IBOs try to lead with the name Network 21 as far as possible. Often, the word Amway is not even used at the business presentation, infuriating people even more when they eventually find out! Another unethical practice which has had some legal implication, is the fact that many Amway reps have made money from selling Network 21 material, rather than focusing on their Amway business.

Has Network 21 made the Amway business more successful? They probably make people stick around a bit longer, but really, the Amway business still has a 97% failure rate. Most Amway IBOs simply never make any money at all. So while Network 21 hosts really excellent functions and produce some really good motivational products, the fundamental reasons why Amway doesn’t work, is still there.

These reasons are:

* Most people do not like to contact friends and family with a ‘business proposal’.

* Most people do not like attending endless (expensive) functions.

* Most people do not like making ‘cold calls’ to strangers.

* Most people do not like to show business plans in coffee shops.

* Most people cannot afford to spend money of expensive products every month.

* Most people simply do not like to be sales people.

So while Network 21 could contribute to your personal growth and lift your motivation levels, it does not magically help Amway reps make any more money. The fact is that many other network marketing companies have learnt from the mistakes of Amway.
