The right perspective of success and failure
Success is sweet but most people fear failure. They fear it so much that they take no action towards their business at all. By doing nothing, they are even worse than those who take action and failed because they gain nothing from their experiences.
On the other hand, most people who have experienced success in any venture often let it get to their heads. They celebrate their victory and become overconfident. There are many stories of one-hit wonders who fail to produce another success and they fall back into the failure zone once again.
So how do we gain a proper perspective on success and failure?
You see, failure never really cripples anyone. No matter how much money we lose in a business venture or how bad a relationship turns out, there will always be second chances in the future. Failure is never permanent unless we believe it is. One of the reasons why people really fail in life is because they give up too soon. They throw in the towel before the final around.
When you fail in a business venture, you can always learn from it. We should even be thankful for the failure to occur because it provides the building blocks for success. For example: if you lost money in a network marketing opportunity, it doesn’t mean you learn nothing or all is lost. Your experiences learnt from network marketing has many benefits such as building your confidence, teaching you how to deal with people and you might succeed in your next business venture as a result of learning those skills. If you had not gone through that learning process, would you be able to apply those skills that will help you succeed today?
When you fail at something, never mope about it for too long. Rather, ask yourself, what can I learn out of this experience? When one door closes, another opens. Failure is never final and you might even fail a dozen times before you finally make it.
When someone experiences success in a business venture, you must never let it get to your head. This is very dangerous. People who get a big head when they experience success might become overconfident in the future. What usually happens when these guys experience a fall, they fall so bad and they find it even harder to recover. They suffer a hard blow to their egos and they don’t know where to hide their faces.
What we must do is to constantly remind ourselves that success is never forever. We must remember that there are lots of things we don’t know and we have to keep on making ‘new’ mistakes and learn from them. We must not stop at where we are because we will never know what tomorrow will bring. ONE PARAGRAPH THAT EXPLAINS LIFE!
Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of AIDS which he got due to infected blood he received
during a heart surgery in 1983. From world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed:
‘Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease’?
To this Arthur Ashe replied:
‘The world over — 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional
tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbledon, 4 to semi final, 2 to the finals,
when I was holding a cup I never asked GOD ‘Why me?’.
And today in pain I should not be asking GOD ‘Why me?’
Instead of being unhappy, remember to count the wonderful blessings in your life,
Happiness keeps you Sweet,
Trials keep you Strong,
Sorrow keeps you Human,
Failure keeps you humble, and
Success keeps you glowing, but only Faith & Attitude Keeps you going…
